SOLD OUT: Tastes Like Home: Cooking Class & Dinner

In anticipation of the launch of the Tastes Like Home: Around the World in Huron County cookbook in late November, we are pleased to host Humaira Hashmi who will lead a cooking class based on the tastes of Pakistan. Join us on Thursday, Nov. 16 at the Hensall Community Christian Church for a cooking session followed by a dinner together. Humaira will lead participants through the making of the following menu:

• Starter: samosa
• Main course: chicken karahi, chicken pulao, and naan with a tossed green salad
• Sweet: carrot halwa and green tea (filipino-style) with lemon

About Humaira Hashmi: Humaira is a mother of three kids who never agree on a single dish for supper. So she prepares healthy, delicious dishes that they like to give them a food that not only fills their tummies but also their hearts! She also enjoys sharing authentic dishes and recipes with others in her community so they can try the traditional tastes of Pakistan. Humaira holds a Masters of Business Education, with a specialty in Marketing Management. She holds a safe food handler certification which she took to protect her family from health risks. She actively volunteers for different organizations fulfilling her passion to serve her community.
